Joe Petralli was a gentleman racer. On a motorcycle he was all business and this sculpture shows it. His grip on the bars, forearms taught, expression determined. Everything from the exquisite detail of the knucklehead engine to the stitching on Joe's leathers and gloves, even his bootlaces, screams out man's passion for speed and his quest for ever higher achievement. This was Harley-Davidson's first overhead valve engine, and its speed made it a showroom winner. To amplify this success, a special was built to set the world land speed record.
